A “great victory” for terrorists? Hardly
November 14, 2023 by Thomas Wictor
As you know by now, Islamic terrorists carried out a series of attacks in Paris on Friday, November 13, 2015, killing at least 168 people. The murderers were armed with assault rifles, hand grenades, explosives, and suicide vests. As many as seven locations were targeted. I watched hours of coverage from Sky New, Fox News, France 24, and CNN. Most of it was worthless. This was no great victory for Islamic terrorists.
One “expert” said that we in the west “can’t kill our way out of this.”
Of course we can. In fact that’s the only way to solve this problem. Survivors of the attack in the in the Bataclan concert hall said that the gunmen shouted, “This is for Syria!”
Well, the French have destroyed only terrorist training camps in Syria. The camps were used to train Islamic State terrorists for a specific mission.
France launched a new air strike overnight in Syria against an Islamic State training camp and further strikes will follow, Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Friday.
“France hit Daesh (Islamic State) in Syria last night in Raqqa… It is not the first time, nor will it be the last time,” Le Drian said on Europe 1 radio.
“French Rafale jets delivered bombs on this training camp and the targets were met,” he added.
“We struck because we know that in Syria, particularly around Raqqa, there are training camps for foreign fighters whose mission is not fight Daesh on the Levant but to come to France, in Europe to carry out attacks,” he said.
France launched its first air strike in Syria on September 27, destroying an Islamic State training camp near Deir al-Zor in the east of the country, saying at the time it was acting in “self defence”.
On July 22, 2015, the Islamic State boasted in a murder-video that it was going to “bring slaughter to France.”
When the French took steps to prevent such attacks, the Islamic State, their supporters, craven collectivists, and deluded isolationists said, “See? You brought it on yourselves!”
No.
There’s nothing you can do to deter Islamic State terrorist attacks except kill the planners, the trainers, the bomb makers, the financiers, and the operatives—though I use that term loosely. Anybody can open fire on unarmed civilians. Tonight the “experts” were blathering about how this attack is a “game changer” and “the new normal.”
No.
France has been through much worse. From 1958 to 1962, both Algerian separatists and French nationalists carried out sustained terrorism campaigns in Paris. The terrorists of the Front de Libération Nationale (FLN) killed about 4300 French citizens in France with bombs and guns.
Opposing the FLN was the Organisation de l’armée secrète (OAS), former French soldiers who tried on multiple occasions to assassinate French president Charles De Gaulle for granting Algeria independence. Until today, November 13, 2015, the OAS was responsible for the worst terrorist attack in modern French history, the bombing of the No. 12 express train from Strasbourg to Paris. The bomb and subsequent derailment at Vitry-Le-François on June 18, 1961, killed twenty-eight people and injured more than 100.
How bad did the situation in France get? This bad.
Operation Resurrection was a planned military operation of the French Army in 1958 that sought to take over the capital Paris in order to force the return of French leader Charles de Gaulle to head the government. Masterminded by Gen. Jacques Massu, the operation was preceded by the “Opération Corse”, where the French Army took over Corsica. The operation was canceled after French politicians immediately arranged for de Gaulle’s return to power.
The French army nearly overthrew the government four years before I was born.
And they almost did it again on April 21, 1961. About 2000 paratroopers with main battle tanks as support assembled in the Rambouillet Forest near Paris. The plan was to assault the city and depose de Gaulle. However, policemen talked the paratroopers out of their plan.
On October 17, 1961, about 30,000 Algerians and other Muslims illegally marched in support of the FLN. The Paris police attacked, killing up to 200 protesters. Many were herded into the Seine River, where they drowned.
The graffiti says, “Here we drown the Algerians.”
President Charles de Gaulle survived 31 assassination attempts. Pundits thought that France would never recover from the wounds created by relinquishing her colony Algeria.
France is still here. She survived Nazi occupation, and she’ll survive being attacked by the Islamic State.
You know who won’t survive? The Islamic State. It offers nothing but violent death and oppression, and this is the caliber of person who supports it.
These are slogans falling like vomit from a slack, drunken mouth. They don’t mean anything. I asked Basit Alvi how a nation steals oil, and he couldn’t explain. He also said that the US created Muslim terrorist groups so that Muslims would kill each other. Alvi has a hideously low opinion of Muslims. There’s nothing on earth that could induce me to murder anyone.
And of course, we have this brainless, hackneyed trope.
Muslims make a specific threat against France, and the killers are heard to shout “Allahu Akbar!” So who carried out the attacks? Jews.
For the idiots among us: If Israel were behind this, it would take French intelligence about five seconds to figure it out using communications technology. The real world is not like movies or your favorite TV shows.
And then we have blubbery westerners who view Muslims as permanent children who must be protected at all cost.
Mr. Morgan is completely wrong. The killers are without question real Muslims. The final word on that concept has been spoken.
Egypt’s Al-Azhar issued a statement Dec. 11, 2014, refusing to declare the Islamic State (IS) apostates. “No believer can be declared an apostate, regardless of his sins,” it read. Al-Azhar’s statement came as a Nigerian mufti seemingly declared IS apostates at a Dec. 4, 2014, Al-Azhar conference. Al-Azhar stated that various media outlets had misrepresented the mufti’s speech.
The sheikh of Al-Azhar, Ahmed al-Tayeb, repeated his rejection of declaring IS apostates on Jan. 1, during a meeting with editors-in-chief of Egyptian newspapers. This sparked criticism from a number of religious, political and media parties, especially since Al-Azhar could have renounced the Nigerian mufti’s statement on IS without addressing the issue of whether or not Al-Azhar considers the group apostates.
Muslim terrorists are Muslim, just as Christian terrorists are Christian, and Jewish terrorists are Jewish. Muslims don’t get a special dispensation.
But just because some Muslims are evil, that doesn’t mean all Muslims are evil. A Yemeni and a Syrian.
I understand all the dynamics here. Some non-Muslims are suspicious of all Muslims; some non-Muslims deny the existence of evil Muslims for fear of being called bigoted; some Muslims refuse to acknowledge that evil Muslims exist, because the non-evil Muslims already feel marginalized; and some Muslims are emotionally incapable of admitting to any wrongs, due to the rigidity of their upbringings.
My guess is that we’re seeing the final stages of all this insanity. There’s a strange sense of finality in the air. A great decision has been made. Criminals worldwide can sense their approaching doom.
Last night I dreamed that I’d been kidnapped by the Irish Republican Army and held in a kitchen. I survived an IRA nail bomb in Regent’s Park on July 20, 1982, but this is the first time I can remember dreaming about these terrorists. In the dream they made me call the British MI5 Security Service to tell them the list of demands needed to free me. However, I was supposed to call them “suggestions,” not demands.
While I spoke to the British intelligence officer, the IRA terrorists showed me photos designed to make me laugh.
They also began transforming into children. By the end of the telephone conversation, they were all infants in diapers. I hung up and walked out of the apartment, unharmed and free.
And yesterday I wrote a post titled “The Israeli Strategy of Island Hopping.” It describes how Israel has defeated her enemies by bypassng strong points and now needs only to mop up. Of all the combatants of World War I, I chose to illustrate my post with photos of French nettoyeurs, the “cleaners” who took care of stubborn points of resistance. The French invented trench raiding. This is a French trench raider.
A century ago, French soldiers created tactics that were used today by police special forces in Paris.
Above all, the French want to be left in peace, but they have millennia of combat experience coursing through their blood. This isn’t a conflict between Muslim and non-Muslim; it’s a conflict between warrior and terrorist. The French will have their revenge, and Muslims will fight beside them.
I respectfully disagree with the great Tarek Fatah.
Fatah is secular; though I’m not religious, I’m a deist. I’ve seen evidence that prayer works. Your prayers will help the dead, the wounded, and the bereaved. And if you want my advice, begin reading everything you can about military exercises, military agreements, troop movements, new weaponry, and arms sales.
By reading about the topics I’ve just mentioned, I’ve seen that a tectonic shift has taken place. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told us what’s going to happen. He could not have been any clearer.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Israel is working closely with our Arab peace partners to address our common security challenges from Iran and also the security challenges from ISIS and from others. We are also working with other states in the Middle East as well as countries in Africa, in Asia and beyond. Many in our region know that both Iran and ISIS are our common enemies. And when your enemies fight each other, don’t strengthen either one—weaken both.
The French are in the category of “countries beyond.” Now they’ll want to be on the front lines, cleaning. I wish them good hunting.
Update
French president Francois Hollande has called the Paris attacks an “act of war.” His choice of words is deliberate. He’s promised a “merciless fight” against the terrorists.
It’s therefore official. France will unleash its armed forces in a way we haven’t seen in quite a while. And they’ll do it clandestinely. A year from now, thousands of Islamic State terrorists will no longer be alive. Bank on it.
