Self-criticism is the eighth deadly sin
May 4, 2024 by Thomas Wictor
On Holocaust Remembrance Day, Israel Defense Forces Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Yair Golan decided to compare Israel with 1930s Nazi Germany. This form of self-criticism is utterly phony. The fact that such a paragon of weakness made it to the IDF General Staff does not bode well for the future of Israel.
But you know what? It’s not my problem. If Israel decides to destroy herself, I’ll still have the Arab League.
Self-criticism is Stalinist
The Seven Deadly Sins are Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Pride. To them I add self-criticism, as defined by John Kadvany on page 276 of his book Imre Lakatos and the Guises of Reason.
Self-criticism was a bizarre ritual of public confession under Stalinism—a stylized speech act realized through publication or some other ostentatious presentation. “These requests for self-criticism,” wrote Aczél and Méray, “are the most characteristic features of Communist Party mechanics. The Party was utterly indifferent as whether the writers were sincere or not. What the Party wanted was a statement.“
Israeli self-criticism is not sincere, since it’s not based on fact. Major General Golan simply wanted to make a public statement. And a sickening one it was.
“The Holocaust should bring us to ponder our public lives and, furthermore, it must lead anyone who is capable of taking public responsibility to do so,” Golan said. “Because if there is one thing that is scary in remembering the Holocaust, it is noticing horrific processes which developed in Europe – particularly in Germany – 70, 80, and 90 years ago, and finding remnants of that here among us in the year 2016.”
“On Holocaust Remembrance Day, it is worthwhile to ponder our capacity to uproot the first signs of intolerance, violence, and self-destruction that arise on the path to moral degradation,” Golan said.
“Most of all, we should ask how it is that we are to realize our purpose as a light unto the nations and a model society,” he said. “Only this kind of remembrance can serve as a living and breathing tombstone for our people – a worthy tombstone, a tombstone of truth.”
Here’s the general, so sad that Israel has become Nazi Germany.
Zionazism. He’s adopted the lies spewed by Jew-haters.
Another newspaper had even worse excerpts.
“There is nothing easier than hating the stranger, nothing easier than to stir fears and intimidate. There is nothing easier than to behave like an animal and to act sanctimoniously,” he added.
Just as Yom Kippur is a day for personal atonement, Golan said, “it ought to be and in fact it’s actually essential” for Holocaust Remembrance Day to be a national day of atonement.
A question for the general: Who asked you to be a light unto nations and a model society? I can barely type those words without vomiting.
No self-criticism here
Major General Golan has two qualification badges: paratroopers and Nahal Brigade Warrior.
UAE Armed Forces First Sergeant Mohammed K. al-Seyad was killed in action in Yemen.
He has UAE paratrooper wings, US paratrooper wings, a US Air Assault badge, a UAE special forces badge, a UAE marksmanship badge, a UAE Presidential Guard badge, and two tabs and a badge that I can’t identify. Nine in all.
The Saudi Special Forces major below on the right also has nine qualification badges, including two American jump wings.
You know what I like about Arab armed forces? They don’t have the sniveling arrogance to call themselves a light unto nations and a model society. I’ve had enough of Israeli and Jewish whining about how horrible it is to defend themselves effectively.
Stop defending yourselves effectively. Lose wars so that you can atone for…existing? I have no idea. But I don’t care anymore. This isn’t a beauty pageant. If you refuse to take your own survival seriously, there’s nothing I can do to change your minds.
REAL self-criticism
The Islamic Reformation began without any blubbering speeches. After the Gulf Cooperation Council had created what are literally invincible armed forces that had been taught the doctrine “Live and let live,” the Arab League began acting.
In Syria and Iraq, Sunni Arabs from the cradle of Wahhabism are protecting Christians, Alawites, Shi’ites, and atheist Kurds. Below is a Saudi commando in an Islamic State tunnel beneath Kharbardan in Nineveh Province, Iraq.
I’m the only person who’s identified that soldier as a Saudi. His uniform and equipment tell the story. But there’s also video of men in Iraq using the new EMPFAE weapons that Israel and the Gulf Cooperation Council jointly developed.
Below is the best video yet showing why EMPFAE weapons were created. A 122mm howitzer was positioned next to civilian apartments. If a regular BGM-71 TOW anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) with a high-explosive antitank (HEAT) warhead had been used, the howitzer ammunition would’ve detonated, causing massive collateral damage.
The super-heated shock wave of the EMPFAE warhead killed the gun crew and incinerated the ammunition, while the electromagnetic pulses (EMPs) destroyed whatever electronics were directing the howitzer. Arab professional strategic special operators fired the missile; the “rebels” are stand-ins.
First we see that the howitzer was in direct-fire mode, meaning that the crew was shooting rounds horizontally at targets they could see.
The EMPFAE warhead prevented secondary explosions.
Zero collateral damage. In thanks, the Israeli Deputy Chief of Staff compares the inventors of these weapons to Nazis.
Arabs aren’t indulging themselves that way. They’re quietly implementing their improvements without the Stalinist self-criticism.
Lots of non-Muslims hate Islam. They demand changes that are utterly unnecessary. I’m going to show you a video that will illustrate how far Muslims have gone ON THEIR OWN. Plenty of you will disagree with the Muslims who made the video. All I care about are results. The people who made the video have joined me; we live in the same place. Their journey was made through the vehicle of Islam.
So what? They’re religious; I’m not. But if we both believe in “Live and let live,” then their religion is not a factor to me.
Reality, not self-criticism
This is what the British published in multiple places.
THAT’S NOT WHAT HAPPENED. Allow Muslims to show you—unflinchingly and without histrionic self-criticism—what Thomas Evans experienced. Brace yourselves for something you’ve never seen…or heard.
The filmmakers are blessing Christian troops for killing Muslim terrorists. No phony “soul searching.” They bluntly admit that some Muslims use Islam for political purposes, period. No excuses are made, and when they say “us,” they mean Muslims. In other words, the video makes no claims that Islam is the only religion. The video was made by Muslims for Muslims. Non-Muslims are praised for defending themselves.
Israeli self-criticism is VANITY.
I’m with the Islamic Mukhabarat and the Arab League. This is no time for playacting.
Here’s what else is real. My father’s workshop, which has remained untouched since his death on February 23, 2013.
My family is so unconnected that nobody wants anything in it. All those vintage tools will end up in a thrift store. I look at that shop and marvel at how a person can live so long but leave behind so little.
His radio, still tuned to his favorite station.
November of 2012 was when he could no longer bear to think about the passage of time.
He died three months later.
Why do people waste their lives on make-believe?
Stop with the games while you’re still able.
